Crewe & Nantwich U16's beat Wilmslow U16's 36-14 at Bowdon on Sunday to win Cheshire Shield Final

The Crewe & Nantwich lads withstood some early pressure from a Wilmslow side who were quicker to get into their stride. Valiant defending by Crewe ensured that no points were scored by Wilmslow in the early onslaught.

After withstanding the early pressure, Crewe soon got into their stride and Kieran Anderson scored under the posts after a slick move through the backs. Three further tries from Matt Walker ensured that Crewe led comfortably 26-7 at half time, three of the tries converted by Calum Meakin.

It was vital to score first in the second half to maintain the pressure and Crewe did this with Ross Holland powering over the line to score in the corner. A late Try by George Spalding ensured that Crewe & Nantwich ran out winner by 36-14

The Cheshire Shield win brings to an end a successful season for the U16's and bodes well for next seasons when the team moves onto Colts.
