Today was the first time we had a solely Crewe and Nantwich under 15's team, all be it 12 of us!

This presented the girls with yet more challenges, in an already challenging season, as we asked them last week to select another position which they could support with.
So today's matches were more about stepping into new positions whilst still being competitive, well they didn't disappoint.
The first game had us against a Barbarian side of players from Sandbach, Ellesmere Port and Port Sunlight. These are big strong girls and it took us the first half to settle into our new roles. But by then we had conceded 3 tries by being turned over at the ruck due to slow reactions, however, the 2nd half saw us score 2 great tries and concede a further 2. We were solid in the scrum and lineout and ok going forward, but we still struggled with confidence in defence and were caught with our backs to the game too many times.
Next up were the ever strong Winnington Park, undaunted, the girl's started to match against Winnington but slipped a few times into the old routine of not supporting at the ruck and turning our backs again. Then it clicked and we started to play more as a unit and with more confidence in our new positions. Rucks were supported, tackles were made and some great ball handling resulted 2 great tries, one from our own restart!
As we progress we have to ensure we are covered across the pitch, so a huge thanks to all who stepped in to new roles, you were brilliant.
Lets give a big thumbs up to Liz who has a suspected broken thumb. Its like we have to have a hospital visit every week! but it shows the huge effort you are putting in week after week .

Full time scores, 5-2 to the barbarians and 5-2 to Winnington Park - both games played at Chester RUFC.

As always new players of all abilities from age 11-17 are welcome to training on Friday nights from 6.30pm - 7.30/8pm. Please get in touch via the website http://www.cnrugby.uk/contact/
