A fiesty cup affair

From the start of the game crewe needed to have impact and intensity and thats what they showed as within the forst minute chester had conceeded a penalty which jonny hill converted 3-0.

After this crewe continued to show there strength and power in the scrum which was dominated throughout. Unfortunately around 15 minutes in saw 2 yellow cards shown 1 for both teams, this seemed to will on the team even more and were awarded another penalty in range of kicking. The ball sliced just wide. One more converted penalty saw crewe ending the half 6-0

The second half started and chester imediately looked alot stronger and started to play an offload game that payed off and saw a gap for there no.7 to run through and score wide. Conversion missed 6-5

Crewe woke back up and started to use our big powerful forwards which gained alot of territory, a long stint in the chester half saw crewe rewarded with another penalty, converted by jonny once again 9-5

Crewe stepped it up another gear and were starting to look for that try that had avoided them so far, we ended up 5 metres out and a tap and go saw big no.8 lukas crashing over the line. Conversion scored 16-5

The next try was some what unfortunate from a chester point of view as crewe went for another penalty kick but it struck the upright and saw the ball land into the hands of second row dylan who ran and slipped just short, a couple of fast phases saw lukas with the ball once again and he offloaded to no.6 pat who scored. Conversion missed 21-5

The last 10 minutes saw crewe withstand a strong attack from chester to end the game on a high, well done to evrey player who took part and also to coaches and familys who came down to support us all. a well deserved victory and we shall see who awaits us in the semi-finals
