Finals day here we come!!!!!! can we have a bus to get there!!!!!

A 10 - 7 epic in the semi final of the Cheshire Bowl against your nearest rivals - is there a better way to spend a Sunday morning?

I can suggest there are less stressful ways, but none quite as enjoyable.

I find cup comps a bit of a breath of fresh air, no County or Academy players missing, just 2 teams at full strength with a neutral Referee going head to head to see which one will have the bragging rights for the next couple of months.

Today was our day. From the off we stuck to the game plan, and although the Sandbach defense held firm, we made inches at first, then feet and eventually meters with masses of effort from every single player. They covered when Sandbach made breaks, chased when stretched in defense, they worked for each other, picked people up of the floor and gave every single ounce of energy they had.

We took the lead with a simple 3 pointer late in the first half, then mid way through the the second 35 we made 3 mistakes in succession for the first time in the game, putting us under pressure just outside our own 22, 1 missed tackle, of which there were very few, let Sandbach's County and Sale Sharks SDG player through to score, expertly converted by the Cheshire 10, this gave Sandbach a 5 point lead with 15 minutes to go.

Crewe hit back within minutes from a well won line-out 5 metres out, Alfie broke blind from the driving maul to dot down in the corner, Logan converted from the touchline to give Crewe a precious 3 point lead with 10 minutes to play.

The follow period of play, was full of control, and top 2 inches rugby, they never looked like giving up the lead, although the final whistle was still a very welcome sound.

Well done to everyone, a fantastic squad effort, it is more than the 15 on the pitch at any one time that make a successful team, it is the squad as a whole that can all enjoy the celebrations and bask in the knowledge that today they gave it their everything.

Many thanks to Sandbach for a great game, and I wish you all the best for the rest of the season.

Try - Alfie x 1
Con - Logan x 1
Pen - Logan x 1
