The strength in depth at Crewe and Nantwich, demonstrated by the 2nd XV leading their league ,is very evident and it was agreed by the coaches that Crewe 2nd XV would have also have readily despatched the DK team. Crewe started the scoring after 7 minutes with a penalty by flyhalf Little, swiftly followed by a try from openside Howard. DK responded with a penlty. Chris Legg, making his debut on the right wing scored a fine try after being put away by scrumhalf Barker. Fullback Ward also got in the act and scored from deep showing his pace. DK finally got some possession and scored a catch and drive try from a 5mtr lineout. The final play of the half saw winger Legg again on the score sheet as he showed good pace to score in the right hand corner.
The 2nd half started well as centre Tom Baldwin intercepted a sloppy DK pass to run the length of the field. In 68th minute flanker Josh Collins burst tackles from the DK 22 mtr line to score under the posts. Flyhalf, Jamie little made a break and passed to Joe Gammage to score a good try. Jamie Little kicked 5 conversions and 2 penalties. The Forwards put in another workmanlike performance with Pack Leader Eli Woodward leading from the front. Eli was awarded Man of the Match for his surging runs and the Coaches are hoping for a back to break the forward dominance of MoM for next week! Next week is the biggest challenge to date for the 1st XV with in form and 2nd placed Bridgnorth visiting the Vagrants KO 3pm
